Marco Price, born April 21, 1978, in Kankakee, Illinois, is a distinguished community leader whose life work centers around compassion, service, and advocacy. A man of deep faith and purpose, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in History Education with a minor in Sociology from Blackburn College and a Master of Arts in Family and Child Counseling from Universal Ministries School of Theology. Marco is an active member of the Second Baptist Church in Kankakee and the Church of the Living God in Champaign, Illinois–spiritual communities that have helped shape his values and mission.
Marco’s service spans decades and touches multiple sectors. He has served in key leadership roles, including Board Member of the Independent Media Center (IMC) and Board Secretary for the Universal Cultural Collaborative Organization (U.C.C.O.), where he supports initiatives aimed at cultural inclusion, education, and social justice.
In addition to his leadership work, Marco has held impactful roles as a life coach, re-entry specialist, and overnight case manager. He offers support and structure to individuals navigating the justice system, homelessness, and recovery. His hands-on experience has equipped him to meet people where they are and help them move toward stability and hope.
Marco’s leadership and advocacy have earned him notable recognition, including the “Recognition of Honor” from the African American Alliance and the “Excellence in African American Studies” award, further affirming his impact on education and social progress. And 2024 James R Burgees Jr-Susan M Freiburg Humanitarian Award. Whether mentoring youth, championing the homeless, or shaping policy through organizational leadership. His legacy is one of action, compassion, and transformation–proof that meaningful change begins with service rooted in love and leadership grounded in integrity.
