Bonnie Miller
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Yvonne Miller, affectionately known as “Bonnie,” has dedicated her life to empowering individuals at critical turning points in their lives.
In her role as a Property Manager, she was committed to helping disadvantaged individuals secure stable housing. She also worked with middle and high school students who had been expelled or suspended, providing education, guidance, and support to help them get back on track. As a Placement Supervisor, Bonnie mentored youth facing difficult home environments, assisting them with job placement and career readiness.
Her passion for serving others extended to her time with the Champaign Consortium, where she helped community members seeking a fresh start by offering assistance with resume writing, job placement, and interview preparation.
After the tragic loss of her son to gun violence in 2020, Bonnie became even more deeply rooted in community work. She founded A Cry For You, an organization that supports families grieving the loss of a child to gun violence.
Now serving as the Careers in Motion Program Coordinator at Township, Bonnie works with participants who are navigating challenges related to employment, life skills, and education. Her greatest passion is helping those who are struggling or unsure of their next steps, guiding them toward stability and success.
