Bonnie Miller

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Yvonne Miller affectionately known as “Bonnie” has spent a lifetime empowering members of the community who have come to a crossroad in their lives.

As a Property Manager she was always ready to help the disadvantaged find adequate housing. She taught and counseled troubled middle and high school students that were expelled or suspended from their home school. As the Placement Supervisor, she mentored and counseled youth who were troubled by their home environment and helped them with job placement. She has always found a way to help those in need. Working for the Champaign Consortium, she was always there to help those individuals that needed a fresh start in the community by helping them with resume writing, job placement, and interview etiquette.

After losing her son to gun violence in 2020, she is deeply involved in the community as the Founder/Director of A Cry For You, an organization for families who lost a child due to gun violence.

As the Education and Employment Coordinator at Township, Bonnie will be working with participants experiencing problems with obtaining jobs, life skills, or even going back to school. Her biggest passion and concerns are helping those that are struggling or just don’t know what the next step is.
