Brittany Tuten has worked with the Cunningham Township for over two years in various case management roles. Now, as the Housing Navigation and Supportive Services (HNSS) Team Lead, Brittany plays a vital role in supporting homeless individuals and families in their journey toward stable and subsidized housing. With a deep commitment to housing justice and community-based care, Brittany oversees the HNSS program, ensuring that residents facing homelessness or housing insecurity receive comprehensive, coordinated support.
Brittany holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies (Political Science) from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her academic foundation in both policy and social work equips her with the tools to navigate complex systems while advocating effectively for the needs of vulnerable populations.
In her leadership role, Brittany manages a dedicated team of HNSS staff and interns, providing supervision, training, and mentorship. She also serves as a Field Instructor for the UIUC School of Social Work, guiding the next generation of social workers through hands-on field education.
She collaborates closely with CTSO’s Leadership Team and Outreach Program Manager to enhance service delivery, strategically plan initiatives, and support grant development and reporting. Brittany represents CTSO at key community coalitions, including the Homeless Student Services Provider meeting and the Continuum of Service Providers to the Homeless (CSPH), and maintains vital partnerships with local shelter providers and referring agencies.
