Jen Straub
Pronouns: she/her/hers or they/them/theirs
Jen Straub earned a Bachelors in English Education and a Master’s in counseling. Her previous work experience includes teaching middle and high school in Milwaukee Public Schools, working as an advocate and volunteer coordinator in a domestic violence shelter, and working as an adoption counselor at the Wisconsin Humane Society. She served on the Champaign County Board from 2020-2024. Her strong conviction that everyone in our community should feel safe led her to take on a myriad of volunteer efforts, including working on a crisis line for survivors of sexual abuse, advocating for common-sense gun legislation, participating in her children’s PTA, and registering people to vote.
Working at Cunningham Township since 2018, Jen has served in myriad roles within the agency. As the Rental Assistance Program Manager, Jen works to keep families experiencing temporary hardship in their homes, and move families with income into housing. She enjoys making connections with local landlords and cooperating with the other amazing organizations in our community that work to empower some of our most vulnerable citizens.
