Funded by the residents of Urbana, we provide General Assistance, Rental Assistance, Utility Assistance, Food Support, Homeless Services, Transportation Assistance, Advocacy, and Support for Social Service partners serving Urbana residents.
General Assistance
General Assistance (GA) is temporary support up to $425 per month for Urbana residents who are out of work or disabled. You will not qualify if you receive any other cash benefit such as SSI/SSDI, TANF, or AABD. Assistance is provided regardless of immigration or criminal conviction status to the extent allowed by law.

You may qualify for Cunningham Township's Rental Assistance Program if you live in Cunningham Township (most of the City of Urbana), have income, AND have not already received rental assistance totaling one months' rent from Cunningham Township, City or Champaign Township or RPC in the past 2 years.

The Cunningham Township, in partnership with the Channing Murray Foundation, is offering a food pantry delivery service for anyone in need and ongoing deliveries for those who are experiencing issues with mobility and food insecurity.
